So often in our drive to be successful professionals we end up compromising our health and other important areas of our lives.
In 1996 I was desperately and searching for a way to transform my health re-order the priorities in my life and change my relationship with food. I had a demanding job and a young child, who would crawl out of the bed at night and leave ME sleeping as by the time I got home from work I did not have the energy to cope with a simple task such as reading her a bedtime story
In addition, in spite of my best efforts I ballooned to over 200 lbs, and began losing mobility with the onset of arthritis in my knees. I was taking countless harsh medications and constantly going to the doctor for the arthritis, allergies and many other ailments.

At first I tried to hide the problem. I found fashionable and culturally appropriate ways to hide my ballooning body. But as my health started to fail I could not pretend. I would exhaust all the prescription value of my health insurance card before the middle of the year and spend countless additional dollars were being spent for doctors’ visits X-rays, MRI’s etc.
Help finally came from a friendly referral to a herbalist. My transformation journey had begun. And it was a few years before I could kick the cycle of sagging self-esteem, stress and mental anguish and growing addition to energy and ‘comfort foods’.
